GMail chat in Indic Languages

I was using Indic translitration bot in GMail chat for typing in my regional language Malayalam. This method was quite good, but it can be done only via a group chat. The bot will convert the English text to the regional language after we type. This method was not convenient as the text will be displayed in English as well as in the regional language also.

Recently I found another technique explained by google. Run an applet in browser which will make the text entry field in any page to do transliteration as you type in English. We only need to bookmark the code. When ever translitration is needed on any web page, just need to click the bookmarklet. Viola !.. the text box on the page will get translitration functionality.

Check out the link's for more details-

Even though this method is more convenient than using bot, I wish to have inbuilt transliteration functionality in GMail chat. Typing in mother tongue can express more !!!!

I Got Google Business Card !!

Google with iprint.com offers free Google Profile business Cards. First 10000 people who claim this offer will get a set of 25 cards that shows Google.com homepage with your name in the search box. This offer is only for US residents. Since I am now at US, I too got a chance to get this offer.

Today I got the card. The card does not contain much details. It include a search box where my name is written. It may  mean that my profile can be found in a simple search. This card may not be useful, but its a gift from Google !

NB: If you have a public profile, Google will include it at the bottom of the Card.
